Location
Although its location may make the Blue Flag village of Playa Hermosa feel somewhat isolated, the small but well-developed town offers many amenities. Playa Hermosa, which translates to Beautiful Beach, is located in northern Guanacaste Province. Keep in mind that Costa Rica has several beaches named Playa Hermosa, including near Jaco, Santa Teresa, and Uvita, but the one where this lovely home is located is in Guanacaste. The Liberia International is the closest airport, at about 30 minutes away.

The house was everything we expected and more. The pictures can’t do the living space and view justice. Very private with plenty of space. We had 9 people and there was plenty of space to hangout. The kitchen is fully stocked to cook some meals or there a bunch of restaurants right at the bottom of the hill. We used Uber to get around, which was very reasonably priced but can be hit or miss to get a ride. I would definitely recommend getting at least one rental car to do grocery runs, but it is a steep climb up the hill so you are going to want a mid sized SUV to make the hike. Bryan was our Zindis representative and he was extremely helpful and responsive to plan and book all the excursions we wanted and helped to provide plenty of recommendations. I would highly suggest doing the Best Day in Guanacaste or the Sunset Boat Cruise. Ten out of ten would recommend booking this trip!

This home exceeded all expectations. The rooms were incredibly spacious, and the outdoor amenities offered a peaceful and therapeutic experience. The bed in the master bedroom was exceptionally comfortable and cozy. The property was well-maintained and spotless, and the staff provided excellent customer service.

We traveled for a spring/senior trip with another family. There were 2 sets of parents and their 6 kids (3 boys, 3 girls), aged 12-20. This house was perfect for our situation and had plenty of space. We were a little worried about the bedrooms because there were reviews that said you had to go through one room to get to the other. However, each room had a patio door to the pool so it was easy for the older kids to go outside and walk around if they wanted. All rooms had their own bathrooms which was nice. We had no trouble fitting in showers and space to get ready. The sunset was amazing from the pool deck and we spent a lot of time in the pool. We also used the grill multiple times. This house was a highlight of the trip and would come highly recommended!

Thank you for a wonderful stay. We had two families staying in the property and there was plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was amazing. It was great that the table seated all of us. There were plenty of tableware and flatware. The pool and outdoor space was the highlight of our stay. We all felt very comfortable and safe at the property. There are reviews stating you need a 4-wheel drive vehicle. We were there in the dry season and had a 4-wheel drive vehicle and did not need it. I would say if the road is wet or muddy 4-wheel drive would nice as the road is steep. There is a mini golf course and a shared pool with slides. We enjoyed using those amenities.

We stayed at this wonderful property with friends. The kitchen is spacious and had everything we needed. We also used the grill for a few meals. The outdoor space is beautiful with several seating and lounging options. The pool was large enough to accommodate eight adults. We had an amazing view of the ocean from high up on the hill. Playa Hermosa has many options for bars and restaurants. It was a lovely stay. The layout of the house would be great for a family (or two)

My husband and I stayed at Sunset Ridge along with 2 other couples. The house was beautiful and the view from the pool/patio was spectacular! There was plenty of space in the home for all of us and it was especially nice that each of the bedrooms had an ensuite bathroom. It should be noted that the bedroom with the bunk beds can only be accessed from in the house via one of the other bedrooms or from outside. The road to the house from the entrance to the complex was extremely steep. I don't think I've ever seen a road as steep. If you are fit and active, you can climb the hill but it is truly a workout. It is not a pleasant walk at all. I'm not sure that you could do the climb with sandals or flip flops. I would highly recommend a car rental. Playa Hermosa has a great beach with several decent restaurants in town and nearby. There is also a small grocery store in Playa Hermosa that has any day to day items you might need including, wine, beer and spirits. The grocery store in Playa Coco is a large American style grocery store that would have anything you are looking for. Lastly, I'd like to note that Emmanuel at Zindus was fantastic to work with! He patiently answered all of my questions prior to our arrival and was available during our stay to assist with the booking of private chef (highly recommend) and a couple of excursions.
